Cultural & Community Events
Getting Involved In Our Community
At the MEED Center, we like to get involved with our local and regional communities. As a part of our community involvement, we partner with the GDAACC every year for the largest Asian cultural celebration in Texas, the Asian Festival. We also participate in events such as World Refugee Day, TASTE OF CULTURES, and our Refugee School Supply Drive!
Global Youth Leadership Program
Leadership Comes From Within
The goal is to connect, cultivate, inspire, and empower high school Juniors and Seniors throughout the DFW area to make a positive contribution to their communities and sphere of influence. Through collaborations with various community, business leaders and other diverse organizations, students are given innovative, hands-on experiences through workshops, informative speaking events, exclusive site visits, and participation in community service projects.
English As A Second Language for Refugees
English Learning Program
Our free English class is tailored to help adult immigrants/refugees to learn the necessary language ability to gain employment, to pass the driving test, and pass the citizenship test. We focus on conversation skills along with vocabulary builder to give our students the skills necessary to quickly adapt to their new life in the USA.
During this Covid19 Pandemic, we offer virtual ESL classes through zoom meetings and our YouTube channel.
We have served the Syrian, Afghanistan, and Congolese refugees along with the South/Central Americans, Nigerian and Vietnamese immigrants through this program.
Currently, we are focusing on Bhutanese, Cambodian, Burmese, and Thai communities.

Technology has increased the need for specially-trained office professionals. In our BOSS program, you will learn essential computer and office skills, including computer fundamentals and keyboarding, administrative office procedures, software, and computer applications.
Women Entrepreneurship Program
The MEED Center held the Women's Business Conference in 2017 along with the Greater Dallas Asian American Chamber of Commerce. This event was attended by many women business owners. The program dedicated to helping women in business develop their business and their professional self. It facilitates personal, financial, and business growth in women and advocates of women in business.
